The Brief

Produce a hill-station destination wedding with the setting as the centrepiece

The Approach

A Mussoorie wedding buys something no ballroom can supply - the hills themselves - and inherits everything that comes with them: narrow approach roads, limited local supply, thin power infrastructure and mountain weather that changes inside an hour.

Design, Production & Execution

The design treats the setting as the primary decor. Sightlines were planned so the valley remained the backdrop rather than being walled out by structure, decor was kept light and open to frame the view instead of competing with it, and lighting was designed to work with the changing mountain light through the day and to give the evening functions warmth once the temperature dropped. Every element carried a weather contingency - covered, anchored, or quickly convertible.

Outcome

Hill logistics drove the fabrication plan. Elements were built off-site in sizes that could physically make the journey up, packed in installation sequence because there is no room on a hill road for a second trip, and specified for wind loading and secure anchoring rather than the free-standing builds a flat urban venue allows. Power was planned with backup on site, crew and equipment were positioned ahead of the function dates to absorb travel delay, and the whole production ran with a weather call built into the schedule.
