The Brief
Present shredding, separating and conveying machinery to processors
The Approach
Vecoplan's machinery - shredders, separators, conveyors - is too large to bring to IFAT in quantity, which means the stand must represent a heavy-industrial capability without the machines doing the talking.
Design, Production & Execution
The design creates a landmark instead. A floating illuminated cube is suspended above the stand, a clean geometric object visible across the hall that functions as a meeting point for a sprawling show - people navigate to it. Beneath it, touchscreen kiosks carry the plant configurations, process animations and technical data that physical machines could not, letting a visitor explore a full processing line at their own pace and depth.
Outcome
A suspended cube is a rigging exercise before it is a design one. The structure was engineered as a lightweight frame skinned with tensioned diffusing material, load-calculated for its rigging points and submitted for organiser approval, with internal illumination pre-installed and tested for even luminance across all faces before shipping. It was assembled at floor level, lifted into position at the start of the install while the hall was clear, and the kiosks were then placed, connected and content-tested beneath it.
