The Brief
Launch an integrated bypass module junction box to solar manufacturers
The Approach
UKT New Energy used Intersolar to launch an integrated bypass module junction box - a component small enough to sit in a hand, aimed at manufacturers who specify in volume. The stand had to give a minor object major presence.
Design, Production & Execution
The design creates a centre of gravity. A sculptural inverted-cone centrepiece anchors the plot and gives the stand a form that is remembered and photographed, and the launch product is placed around it on individually lit plinths - each unit isolated, spotlit and treated as a singular item rather than one of many. The arrangement makes visitors orbit the centrepiece, and every orbit passes the product.
Outcome
The cone was the fabrication problem worth solving properly. It was built as a sectional formed structure over an internal frame, seam positions planned so joints fall where the eye does not travel, and finished off-site to a paint standard that survives close inspection. Plinths were pre-wired with integrated drivers and their lighting focused in the workshop so each one delivers identical intensity. On site the centrepiece was erected first and the plinths set out around it, followed by product dressing and a final focus pass.
