The Brief

Introduce string transport systems to an infrastructure audience

The Approach

InnoTrans is an audience of engineers, operators and infrastructure buyers who have seen every rail technology on the market. SkyWay needed to introduce string transport systems - an unfamiliar category - to that audience, which meant the stand had to signal engineering seriousness before a single conversation started.

Design, Production & Execution

The design borrows the language of the product. A portal structure lined with cyan LED reads as infrastructure rather than decoration, with a floating fascia that appears to span rather than sit, echoing the suspended logic of the transport system itself. Backlit brand blades rise above the build line to hold position in a hall full of rolling stock, and the lighting is used structurally - defining edges and spans - rather than as surface wash.

Outcome

Achieving a clean, unbroken line of LED across a portal span is a fabrication discipline. The structure was engineered with the lighting channels integrated into the frame rather than applied afterwards, wiring routed internally, and diffusers selected and sample-tested to eliminate visible dotting. The portal was built and lit in the workshop for a full dry run, then broken into transportable sections for the Berlin build, where the sequence was frame, fascia, lighting focus, then AV commissioning.
