The Brief

Present coating technologies to furniture and joinery manufacturers

The Approach

Polistuc sells coating technology to furniture and joinery manufacturers - a technical sale that happens sitting down. The Interzum stand needed to explain a technology portfolio efficiently and then hold people long enough to get into detail.

Design, Production & Execution

The design builds a room, not a booth. A coffered ceiling grid gives the plot the proportions and enclosure of an interior, which changes visitor behaviour immediately - people stay in rooms and pass through booths. A pendant-lit lounge sits under it as the natural stopping point, while a run of backlit technology panels lines the perimeter so the portfolio can be read independently by visitors who are not yet ready to sit.

Outcome

Coffered grids expose every tolerance error, so the ceiling was engineered as a modular rigged system, dry-assembled off-site and checked for alignment and even lighting across each coffer before shipping. Pendant positions and circuits were fixed at design stage and pre-wired, and the backlit panels were built as sealed illuminated modules with even diffusion tested in the workshop. Install ran ceiling rig first, then perimeter panels, then lounge fit-out and dressing.
